Alvin Johnson
CEO | Real Estate Developer | Housing Innovator | Educator
Alvin Johnson is a nationally recognized real estate developer and thought leader with over 35 years of experience in construction, finance, and affordable housing. From humble beginnings as a handyman offering painting services door-to-door, Alvin has built a legacy of empowering communities through quality housing and financial education.He currently serves as CEO of Multifamily Monopoly (MFM), an innovative platform providing education and mentorship for aspiring multifamily investors. Alvin is also at the helm of Assertive Management Group, LLC, overseeing operations for HOPE’s nonprofit affordable housing properties.
Previously, Alvin was Vice President and Interim President of the American Housing Foundation (AHF) in Amarillo, Texas. Under his leadership, AHF expanded to manage over 16,000 units, housing more than 50,000 individuals, and secured over $400 million in financing to reposition assets using traditional bank loans, tax-exempt bonds, and private capital.
Alvin also founded Wholesale Lending Exchange, Inc., the mortgage banking division of Icon Mortgage. Between 1996 and 2008, the platform funded over 8,000 single-family residential loans, exceeding $1.5 billion in volume.
To meet the rising demand for high-quality housing for families and aging populations, Alvin launched Springboard Real Estate Advisors (SREA), a fully integrated consulting and lending firm for Build-to-Rent (BTR) and multifamily developments. He holds a General Contractor license with reciprocity across nine states, bringing extensive regulatory and field experience to all of his development projects.
Dr. JD Singh

Dr. JD Singh is a highly accomplished multifamily developer and investor with extensive experience in ground-up construction, value-add acquisitions, and large-scale real estate development. Originally trained as a medical doctor, Dr. Singh transitioned into real estate with a mission-driven focus on building vibrant, inclusive communities. Over the years, he has developed and acquired thousands of multifamily units, overseeing projects from initial entitlement and design through to construction, lease-up, and long-term asset management.
Dr. Singh has led the development of numerous ground-up multifamily projects, delivering high-quality housing that balances affordability with modern living standards. His portfolio includes hundreds of millions in assets under management across diverse asset classes—including multifamily, senior living, self- storage, industrial, hotels, mobile home parks, and RV campgrounds—but his core expertise lies in multifamily real estate. He is particularly skilled in acquiring underperforming or mismanaged assets and executing comprehensive value-add strategies that enhance both community quality and investor returns.
With a people-first mindset shaped by his medical background, Dr. Singh brings a compassionate, community-focused perspective to development. He believes housing is more than just shelter—it’s where families grow, memories are made, and lives are shaped. His commitment to creating supportive, connected environments has made him a respected leader in the multifamily sector. Kent is the founder and driving force behind the Affordable Housing & Real Estate Investing Podcast, which has gained over 300,000 views/downloads to date. The podcast provided Kent with behind-the-curtain insights from some of the industry’s most accomplished developers. With over three years at the helm, he’s cultivated connections and knowledge that uniquely positioned him and his partners to build high-impact, scalable, affordable housing projects.
Kent earned his Master’s in Taxation and Bachelor’s in Accountancy from Bentley University, then launched his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he guided multi-billion-dollar enterprises through complex mergers and acquisitions. This experience prepared him for balancing high-stakes negotiations, risk management, and financial precision, given his expertise as a prior Certified Public Accountant. Later, at a Fortune 100 insurance giant, Kent led pivotal data clean-ups and spearheaded global Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning initiatives with teams of up to 45 developers and product owners, demonstrating his talent for orchestrating large-scale transformations.
Beyond numbers and technology, Kent has always been committed to serving others. From his early days as an EMT responding to life-or-death 911 emergencies to now hosting a free podcast that educates aspiring developers and investors about the affordable housing sector, his ultimate mission is to inspire others, arm them with the know-how, and empower communities. By blending top-tier financial expertise with a genuine passion for social impact, Kent aims to indirectly transform a billion lives, forging strategic partnerships that expand the pool of affordable housing worldwide.
